Shoutbox...

Hi,

I wanted to know wanted to know what you all thought about the shoutbox. I am thinking about trying to improve the refresh rate so that i can be used like a IM. What do you think ?

Please post any comments or suggestions you have about the feature.

I love the shoutbox a great way to stop people spamming with unneccesarry posts and refresh rate of the page, I guess it auto refreshes then?

Yeah, the shoutbox is reloaded every 0.5 seconds using AJAX transparently

0.5 would be enough i think and this browser doesnt have particularly great JS capability, so may have to start using a different one.

I also like the Shoutbox its good to chill around and make a post every so often but i just hope that when we get more members that they will not be spamming
the shout box but IF that did happen you could easily make it so you can only
make one post every 10 - 15 minutes ^^

Yea, it doesn't bother us and it's a good feature for instant messaging if you want to talk to another member instead of opening a new thread or sending private message.

Sounds as if everyone likes it So it is going to stay... for the time being at least

I am also going to be improving and adding features to the Webevader List and Site over the next few days
